We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Team Leader to join our Surfacing Division, specialising in asphalt and spray seal operations. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on delivering high-quality outcomes through effective crew management, resource coordination, and project execution.
About the Role
As Team Leader, you will oversee daily surfacing operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You’ll lead a dedicated crew, manage resources, and liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise surfacing crews on asphalt and spray seal projects
- Coordinate equipment, materials, and personnel to meet project timelines
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Provide hands-on support and training to team members
- Communicate effectively with project managers and clients
- Complete project documentation including prestarts, diaries and timesheets
About You
- 5–10 years’ experience in asphalt/ spray seal operations, with prior leadership experience preferred
- Strong communication, initiative, and decision-making skills
- White Card, manual driver’s licence, First Aid
- Understanding of DSG standards and experience completing council contracts (desirable)
- Ability to pass a fitness for work medical

Key Tasks
- Operate vacuum trucks for liquid waste removal, hydro excavation, and industrial cleaning
- Conduct pre-start checks and maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety
- Complete job documentation and liaise with clients on-site
- Follow safety and environmental procedures
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Assist other divisions with fleet-related tasks as required
Experience and qualifications
Essential:
- HR or HC Truck Licence
- White Card (Construction Induction Card)
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual outdoor work

- Reliable and consistent work ethic
- Willingness to call outs and weekend work when required (appropriate penalty rates and allowances apply)
- Team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills
Desirable:
- Understanding of Construction Industry practices including non-destructive digging
- Previous experience operating vac trucks or similar equipment

About the role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor to join our HSEQ Team on a full-time basis. The role will initially cover maternity leave, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent position as part of our expanding team. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will support the implementation of HSE systems, promote a strong safety culture, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.
You will work across both office and field environments, supporting teams, conducting inspections, and providing clear guidance on safety best practices.
